Paedophile Adam Johnson sobs in prison after Stacey Flounders visits him

Paedophile footballer Adam Johnson wept as his girlfriend Stacey Flounders visited him in prison, with pals saying the couple could get back together.

Johnson, 28, has been jailed after being convicted of grooming and sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl.

During the trial, Miss Flounders attended Bradford Crown Court with Johnson. But as the trial went on, she told the court that the pair had broken up.

However, following her first visit to see Johnson - the father of her child - behind bars, pals of the
couple now believe that they may get back together.

A source told the Sun on Sunday:

"Adam burst into tears as soon as he saw Stacey and the emotion was running pretty high. They obviously still care for each other greatly and it was probably too much for him to take after the reality of his sex-year sentence. 

"It has hit him really hard and he thinks he's been unfairly hit because of who he is."

The source added that Johnson has "barely spoken to anyone" since arriving in prison and that Stacey "sees a future" with Johnson when he is released.

The former England, Manchester City, Sunderland winger admitted grooming and sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl, but denied two more serious charges with the same teenager.

A jury found him guilty on one charge involving penetration and not guilty on the other.
