Man Killed His Wife Because She Auctioned Off His Ticket To See An Elvis Presley Tribute Band On Ebay

What we see all the time is that people can get annoyed about trivial things, but then the end results turns out to be not so trivial.

56 year old Paul Abbott descended on his 54 year old wife Jacqueline, when he discovered she had auctioned off his ticket to a concert featuring an Elvis Presley tribute band.

Both were huge fans of the legendary performer, and Paul got incensed when he discovered his wife had auctioned off his ticket for the show they were supposed to see together. He hit her with a hammer in his rage.

A husband is facing life in jail for battering his wife to death with a hammer after she sold his ticket to see an Elvis tribute band.

Paul Abbott, 56, lashed out at his 54-year-old wife Jacqueline in December last year after finding out that she had sold his concert ticket on eBay.

The grandmother, who had two sons, was left with catastrophic head injuries and was pronounced dead at their marital home in Netherton, West Midlands.

The pair were described by neighbours as being ‘Elvis mad’ and regularly went to conventions and tribute acts together.

Abbott pleaded guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court to murdering his wife.

West Midlands Police said Mrs Abbott had been away from home for a few days and had returned home when the row broke out.

Detective Sergeant Indi Basra said: ‘She and her husband were due to attend a performance of an Elvis tribute band that evening.

‘They had had an argument as she had sold his ticket – he saw a hammer in the landing area and picked it up and struck her a couple of times.’

Judge John Wait told Abbott that he would be jailed for life, but adjourned the case so he could determine the minimum term he will spend behind bars. He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date.
